Robin Frankland: Ironman South Africa 2007… from mid-field

Well the first major goal of 2007 has come and gone and I can reflect on a challenging time preparing for the race and and even tougher day out on the course. Tides, winds and a little sun all came to play on what was ultimately a very good day out for me.

Ironman South Africa 2007 introduction

Towards the end of the Ironman South Africa 2007 PROs race I was already exhausted and I only caught the glimpse of the finish: I saw Gerrit Schellens run the last kilometre super fast and then, I can not say how long after, maybe less than a minute, I saw Raynard Tissink almost walking.
