“The Toughest Day In Sport”. This was the caption above our heads as we finished the 2007 Standard Chartered Ironman Korea, and that day it had been truer than any other Ironman day that I had ever felt.

In a weekend filled with Ironman racing it was pleasing to note that South Africa’s own Raynard Tissink returned to his winning ways at the incredibly tough Ironman Korea on the island of Jeju. Just got Raynard Tissink’s newsletter: He was forced to miss out on Quelle Challenge Roth due to an piriformis syndrome, he has chosen Ironman Korea for his next race. An interesting detail is that he has been working with Natascha Badmann’s coach, Toni Hasler, since Ironman South Africa 2007.
