The first lap of the run seems almost lonely by comparison
It’s been a little more than a week since IMSA and while everyone has been congratulating me, I have still not been able to come to terms with my result which I find incredibly disappointing.

In the movie Hitch there was a moment where Will Smith said “Begin each day as if it were on purpose”
I came to Port Elizabeth this year with a clear mind and some simple goals.
1. Dont walk on the run other than aid stations.
2. Dont blow up.
3. Have FUN!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather as the 1600 odd athletes lined up at the edge of the sea for the start of the Ironman South Africa 2008 in Port Elizabeth.
