Triathlete hair removal
May 26th, 2007 by Nikola Tosic
There are many many many different behavioural elements that categorize triathletes as a special kind of people. Some of these behaviours are shared by some other interest groups. One of them is hair removal. It is one thing in common with all other people in the world that seek hydro and aerodynamics - or a painless massage. It is also one thing that makes women and men become almost equall.
So far I used to wax. My first was was longer than one hour and left blood stains in the saloon. Later waxing become faster but I got so tired of it. Just smelling the wax makes me bored. I lost my motivation for it. So I started searching for new things.
I got one of those home delipators, little machines that pull the hair out. It hurts as much as waxing but takes hours, literarly hours to achieve anything. So imagine waxing yourself for hours. No thanks! I will keep it only for extreme situations when I can not find any shaving stuff or waxing saloon 1000km around me.
The latest thing I saw online is a special razor for men. They advertise it as something we can use on our chest or back or b___s. I guess it is made for quick shaving of large surfaces. I will make sure I get it in the next few days. And not only I will test it on me but also on my girlfriend to make sure you, the female audience of this ingenious website, can have some real triathlete feedback on this product. That was a corny sentence but I will leave it anyway…
Ok, the next step, plase fill in the bellow poll or write a comment about your experience about the most important least important thing in triathlon - hair removal.

You gotta love the ad!
As for me I shave, I use a Phillips electric razor similar to the one above just pink. It has an additional depilator attachment but I keep that for when my friends and I play Jackass.
It does the job pretty well but I use a normal razor in the shower afterwards on the Friday before a race to get an extra smooth finish (gotta look good for those photos).
Waxing is terrible, I have tried it a few times but most (all) waxes contain aloe and I am allergic to it so I end up with a terrible rash for 2 weeks.
Hair removal creams are fine but you usually end up missing a patch and then its just easier to get the razor out so you may as well just go that route to start with.
